10 craft items you need for your school ager

Schoolager Crafts

I remember when I was in high school  I had a friend who asked if I wanted any of her parents craft supplies they were planning to throw away.  I gladly took many of the items, but I also asked why her parents decided to unload these fine items.  She simply explained that the only reason they had them in the first place was that they had kids in school and didn’t need them anymore.  As an adult and a parent I finally understand them.  There are craft items you just need stocked in your house when you have kids:

  • Markers, crayons, and colored pencils. Depending on your kids ages these three items are a must.  I stick to washable when ever possible.
  • Foam Poster board.  What classroom presentations do not need some type of poster board?
  • Glue Stick.  Yes, and I pick mine up at the dollar store because they have a shelve life.
  • Colored and white construction paper.  Simple, yet you will use these all the time. I am almost certain.
  • Kid-size Scissors.  Maybe obvious, but definitely necessary.
  • Something Sparkly.  Even with boys we have found that this makes a project.  We are big into liquid glitter.
  • Card board boxes.  Can I say diorama, or science project?  We keep a few shoe boxes in the back of our closet for this purpose.
  • Tape.  One of the most popular craft items in my house.  And one I usually run out of first.  Keep a lot handy.
  • Colored Felt.  Easy to cut, easy to glue, simply a must.
  • Elmer’s Glue.  A classic, and always needed even when you blink and they are in high school.
